Team building activities are a must if you want your team to be on the same page and work like well-oiled machinery. These activities build character and allow people to bond with others, thus making your team better. That’s why you see every corporate, organization, school, etc participating in different team-building activities.

But since COVID-19 hit us, there’s no scope for any sort of team-building activities. Most of the activities that we know are designed for the offline world; not the online world we all have been inhabiting since the January of last year. But with time, everything changes form, and hence we have come up with a short list of online building games and activities that you can partake in to build a better team.

1. A Virtual Escape Room-

Escape rooms are perhaps one of the most effective games to build teamwork. And The Escape Game’s Remote Adventures bring the whole experience of escape room online. The game allows 8 players to work together in escaping a room. They all are connected virtually to a guide who will do as they ask. The objective is to get the guide out of the room in the given time. This is a super fun activity to learn communication and about other teammates’ personalities.

2. An Off-day Group Chat-

The idea behind this is to give your team space to open up and talk about them without any hesitation. Pick any day of the week, and get your whole team on a call and just talk. If you are the boss, make sure that no one talks about work. Allow people to talk about their childhood, growing up years, college, dreams, ambitions, etc. This will help people feel a personal touch even at work. Along with that, it’s a great way for people to unwind and make friends.
3. Sharing Bucket List-

In this, all team members have to share their bucket lists with others on the team. Decide a day and then ask all your team members to prepare a bucket list. It could be about anything; travel, profession, personal, etc. And then ask members to talk out their bucket list. But for this activity to go smoothly, you’ll have to ensure everyone, a safe space. People should know that they won’t be judged or laughed at.

4. Building A Storyline-

Although this activity is mostly used by art school, it nevertheless is a great exercise in creativity and bonding. All you have to do is pick a team member and ask him to build a set-up for a story. Then everyone in the team can go one by one in circles, adding up one line to the set-up and taking the story forward. In the end, one person will have to read the whole story out loud. This can become a very fun evening for your team members.

5. Show and Tell-

Most of us know this game from elementary school but it nevertheless is a great exercise. Basically, all one has to do in this activity is to point out an item of their choice and talk about it for a minute. It could be anything; a book, film, trophy, diary, anything. Since we all are stuck at home, there’s no dearth of items around us that we have some sort of history behind it.
