Cybercrime is catching up with everyday life, and an increasing number of young people are becoming victims. The results of the survey on cybercrime will provide light on important threats that young people face..#ThinkWithNiche

A research was undertaken to determine the extent to which children and teens aged 10 to 17 years were exposed to pornographic content on the internet. They were the subject of risk-related concerns. The sample consisted of 1500 internet users in the age category of youth from around the nation. The survey was conducted over the phone. For Pedestrians, Janis Wolak, Kimberly Mitchell, and David Finkelhor were among the researchers. The conclusions were drawn out where almost 40% of youth on the internet were exposed to pornography content online in the year 2004. This surely had an extensive impact on the teenagers. 66% of teenagers from this lot were reported to have an unsolicited disclosure. This further lead to depression in youth and caused a rising concern for their mental, physical and psychological aspects. These teenagers already had inbuilt computer system software in their homes provided by their parents. In return, it inhibited the possibility of access to such highly pornographic content shared over the internet. Online harassment as well as offline harassment by estranged males towards females is one of the offensive acts which have been increasing day to day because of exposure to pornography. Youth and underage boys download images of young girls which is known as a criminal offense.

A survey was done on “Youth Internet use: risks and opportunities” by (Guan), (Shu-Sha Angiea), (Subrahmanyam), and (Kaverib), shows “The results show that online risks such as addiction, cyberbullying, and sexual solicitation are associated with negative consequences for youth. It is important to note that not all children are equally susceptible and more research is necessary to identify the youth most at risk as well as to develop effective interventions. The Internet can also provide benefits in the areas of cognitive, social, and physical development, and can also be used to deliver treatment interventions.”

More stringent rules and regulations must be followed on the internet. Cybercrime is also one of the most dangerous aspects in the world of the internet which is growing in large numbers for the millennial, youth, children, and teenagers of all age groups. The strict rules that these children's parents implement early in their lives will reduce the chances of their youngsters indulging in illegal browsing activities. Parents, as well as the adult members of the family, will be informed and aware of what is going on within the four walls of their home. With the ongoing peer and societal pressures, it goes without saying that today's youth are not losing themselves every minute in the eyes of new media. The youth's brains are highly fragile and the media's influence can be harmful to their mind, body, and soul.
