Then, instead of limiting staff to one 15-minute break every day, try lowering expectations. When salesman think they can't keep repeating their sales presentation, provide an alternate script for the same product. Alternatively, start treating your employees with more flexibility and honesty.

It's unusual for some people to be hesitant to take a break from work for fear of upsetting their co-workers, but they wind up burdening themselves too much to "assist" the group. If you have more than a handful of salespeople under your supervision, each salesperson should have one primary guideline (e.g., "I have to be home by 5 p.m. on Tuesdays"). That way, you can give everyone a favor without worrying about how they react.

Burned-out employees are less likely to stay! Even if they leave on their own, you'll need to replace them. Fortunately, training, support, and comprehension may all help to minimize the odds.

It's vital to consider if your reps' incentives are sufficient to keep them going in the face of extra or repetitive work. If you allow them more autonomy over what they do, you could be amazed at what they come up with.
