Veteran Actor Arun Bali Passes Away At The Age Of 79

News Synopsis

Arun Bali, a seasoned actor known for his work in blockbuster movies like 3 Idiots, Kedarnath, Panipat, and many others, passed away today in Mumbai (October 7). The 79-year-old veteran actor had been in numerous TV shows.

Earlier this year, the veteran actor was diagnosed with a rare long-term neuromuscular disease Myasthenia Gravis. It was heartbreaking news for all his fans and family members as the actor passed away today at 4:30 am in Mumbai.

Ankush, Bali's son, revealed that his father was hospitalized earlier this year for Myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune condition marked by a breakdown in nerve-muscle communication. Ankush said his father was responding well to the treatment but passed away at around 4.30 am.

Veteran actor Arun Wali started his career in the 90s. After this, he acted in many films including 'Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman', 'Phool Aur Angare', 'Khalnayak', '3 Idiots' and 'Panipat'.

Bali’s last screen presence was in Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar-Manushi Chillar’s Samrat Prithviraj. Interestingly, Akshay made his debut with Saugandh, which also starred in Arun Bali.

Arun Bali became well-known in the 2000s for playing "grandfatherly" characters in films like Kumkum's Harshvardhan Wadhwa, for which he won numerous awards. He has won a National Award as a producer as well. He last appeared as the elderly man in the train in Laal Singh Chaddha's Hollywood adaptation of Forrest Gump, which was released on August 11, 2022.
