Twitter suspended fake Chinese accounts

U.S.-based microblogging website Twitter has removed hundreds of fake Chinese accounts. These all accounts were spreading propaganda regarding the Chinese winter Olympics overshadowing the current human rights issues prevalent in the country. A spokesperson of the company said: "If we have clear evidence of state-backed information operations, our first priority is to enforce our rules and remove accounts engaging in this behavior," The spokesperson said. "When our investigations are complete, we disclose all accounts and content in our information operations archive”. The said accounts were found violating twitters ‘platform manipulation and spam policy. These accounts were discovered and reported by the New York times after they notice irregular engagement on these accounts. To protest against the violation of human rights and genocide of Uyghur Muslims, #BoycottBeijing2022 has been trending globally.
