News Synopsis

As excitement builds for the upcoming Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled two special tributes: commemorative postage stamps dedicated to the temple and a book showcasing stamps featuring Lord Ram from around the world.

Celebrating Ram Mandir through Philately:

The beautifully designed postage stamps depict prominent elements of the Ram Mandir, including the Sun, Sarayu River, and sculptures adorning the temple complex. Each stamp features a touch of elegance with a gold leaf of sun rays and the sacred Choupai "Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari", adding a majestic touch to this historic collection.

Ram's Global Popularity Reflected in Stamp Book:

Beyond the Mandir itself, the accompanying 48-page book presents a fascinating snapshot of Lord Ram's global reverence. Stamps issued by over 20 countries, including the US, New Zealand, Singapore, and Canada, alongside organizations like the UN, are proudly displayed.

Panchabhutas: A Universal Connection through Design:

The featured stamps showcase a captivating theme: the five elements of nature ("Panchabhutas"). Sky, air, fire, earth, and water are beautifully depicted through various design elements, highlighting the harmonious balance essential for all life.

Preparations Intensify for the Consecration Ceremony:

With the unveiling of these commemorative items, excitement for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22nd reaches a fever pitch. Preparations are in full swing, and the sacred idol of Ram Lalla has already arrived at the temple.

Ritual Schedule: Ganeshambika Pujan and Mandap Pravesh

The schedule includes a Ganeshambika Pujan, followed by the installation of the idol on a throne with "Mandap Pravesh" rituals. The consecration ceremonies commence with "Jaladhivas" (cleansing the idol with water) and "Gandhadivas" (showering the idol with different essences). The evening will witness the arti of the new idol, creating an atmosphere of spiritual significance.

A Ritualistic Journey towards Consecration:

A special Puja was conducted in the sanctum sanatorium on Wednesday night, with the idol expected to be positioned in the garbha griha on the third day. The intricate consecration process will involve:

  • Ganeshambika Pujan: A ritual honoring Ganesha and Ambika.

  • Mandap Pravesh: Ceremonial entry of the idol into the mandap.

  • Jaladhivas and Gandhadivas: Purification rituals involving water and various essences.

  • Arti: A devotional offering of light to the new idol.

  • Panchgavya and Vastu Pujan: Purification of the throne and mandap using sacred elements.

  • Yagya: A fire ceremony invoking divine blessings.

PM Modi to Lead the Grand Ceremony:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will serve as the chief yajman of the pran-pratishtha ceremony, marking a moment of immense significance for India and the Hindu faith.
