PM Narendra Modi urges households to set up Solar Trees

Addressing a post-budget webinar on Energy for Sustainable Growth, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has urged households to set up solar trees to meet the increasing demand for energy in India. 

The prime minister has said that four pilot projects for coal gasification and conversion of coal into chemicals required for the industry will be set up to evolve the technical and financial viability of transitioning to renewable energy.

He further said that the demand for energy will increase in the coming years. Setting up these solar trees will contribute to saving up to 15% electricity for a single house. It will not only be unique but will be environment-friendly as well.

The prime minister also said that the seminar focuses on implementing new budget schemes and chalking out ways for effective and concrete execution of these schemes. The prime minister also said that it is an opportunity to achieve the NetZero target by 2030. He also announced that the Union Budget 2022-23 has drawn a special focus on Battery Swapping Policy that can help in scaling India’s energy efficiency capabilities.
