L&T Construction's Water & Effluent Treatment Business has successfully secured prestigious contracts, fortifying its position as a leader in the water infrastructure industry.

The company announced through an exchange filing that it has been awarded projects by the State Water & Sanitation Mission, Uttar Pradesh, aimed at constructing a comprehensive water supply scheme for the Hanumanganj multi-group of villages in the districts of Ballia and Firozabad.

The main objective of this endeavor is to provide safe and potable drinking water to a staggering population of 50.85 lakh individuals in the state.

Project Scope and Impact

The scope of the projects encompasses various vital components, including the design and construction of an intake structure, a high-capacity water treatment plant capable of handling 148 MLD, an extensive network of transmission and distribution pipelines spanning 5534 kilometers, and the establishment of 13 clear water reservoirs with a combined capacity of 25 million liters.

Additionally, 504 overhead service reservoirs with an aggregate capacity of 115.4 million liters will be built, along with 13 pumphouses and an impressive 3.81 lakh house service connections. The projects will also entail implementing advanced automation systems, including SCADA and other instrumentation works, to measure input and output water quantity and quality, ensuring efficient and sustainable water management.
