Late Danish Siddiqui was also awarded a Pulitzer Prize in the Feature Photography category. In particular, photojournalist Siddiqui, who is associated with the international news agency Reuters, was killed last year while reporting on the war between Afghan troops and the Taliban in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar.

Siddiqui, along with Adnan Abidi, Sanna Irshad Mattoo, and Amit Dave, won the Pulitzer Prize for images of Covid's tribute to India. Siddiqui was killed last year while reporting a clash between Afghan special forces and the Taliban rebels.

In addition, Ukrainian journalists received the 2022 Pulitzer Prize Special Award, and the jurors of the highest honor of journalism, recognizing the coverage of the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill, the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the collapse of Florida's surfside condominiums
