India Will Host A Series Of Roundtables At The United Nation As G20 Chair

India will host roundtables at the United Nation headquarters as the G20 chair and in advance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit later this year in New York, the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nation announced on Monday.

'Gandhian Trusteeship: A Panel Discussion on Sustainable Lifestyles and Enduring Pace' is the title of the roundtable that will take place on Thursday.

The following roundtable, on March 9, will focus on  'A world we women and girls want: Technology enabled social and economic advancement 

'Grassroots leadership and transformation: Charting the path of empowerment through technology and skill development' is the topic of a roundtable that will take hold on March 16.

India's ambassador to the UN tweeted, attaching the calendar of the roundtables and other events, "Focus will be on India's growth story and achievements and how these might be scaled for the potential benefit of the global South," 

India has taken over the G20 Presidency from Indonesia on December 1st, 2022, and will host the G20 Leaders' Summit for the first time in 2023. As a country that is steadfastly committed to multilateralism and democracy, India's G20 Presidency would mark a turning point in its history. India wants to play a significant role in finding practical solutions at the international level to ensure everyone's well-being and to truly embody the idea of  'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' or the 'World is One Family'."

The G20 presidency is founded on the principles of the universal sense of oneness, or "One Earth, One Family, One Future," which is taken from the Sanskrit proverb Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which means "that all of the world, universe, or reality is one."
