A new White Paper titled 'Building resilient media organisations in the age of disinformation,' was presented in London, amid the continuous problems encountered by the media industry due to the surge in the propagation of disinformation and rapid technological advancements.

The paper was released on March 20 by the Global Media Congress and the official news agency of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in partnership with the transatlantic think tank Henry Jackson Society.

The White Paper was launched in the presence of several major British and UAE media leaders, members of Parliament, and civil society representatives.

In its White Paper, the Global Media Congress identified a global trend toward multi-channel journalism, reflecting the rapidly expanding popularity of opinion-based reporting.

This White Paper offers eight alternative viewpoints on these fundamental concerns regarding the endurance of news organizations in the age of misinformation. These opinions are based on the anonymous comments and observations of hundreds of Global Media Conference attendees from last year.
According to the Global Media Congress' White Paper, media CEOs, editorial directors, academics, researchers, and former journalists, all agreed that technologies like artificial intelligence and the metaverse are rapidly gaining popularity and will be game changers for the media industry - though some were more skeptical than others about how quickly this change will occur.

The report also explains why organizational sustainability is vital for media practitioners these days.

The Paper investigates how, despite these new challenges, media professionals largely agree that the old journalistic standards—quality, honesty, and dependability—remain important. They argue that innovation should not be pursued for its own sake. The arguments at the Media Future Labs and in this White Paper are based on the assumption that news consumers need help navigating an increasingly contaminated information world, such as through extensive public media literacy training.

Furthermore, the paper emphasizes how pervasive mis/disinformation is nowadays. The paper provides significant insights and practical advice on how the media may convert challenges into opportunities and how to properly use the chances that are available.
