Facebook launched a test to support NFTs with select creators in the US. This is part of its efforts to capture the multibillion-dollar metaverse market. Navdeep Singh, a product manager at Meta (previously Facebook), shared screenshots of NFTs via Facebook on Thursday night. "We're launching NFTs on Facebook! Excited to share what I've been working on with the world," He posted,

Zuckerberg addressed one of the sessions at the "South By Southwest" event and stated that "over the next several months, the ability to bring some of your NFTs in, hopefully over time be able to mint things within that environment".

According to the CEO of Meta,  "A bunch of technical things that need to get worked out before that'll really be seamless to happen." We're working on bringing NFTs to Instagram in the near term," said the Meta founder at an event.

He previously announced that "Similar functionality is coming to Facebook soon, along with augmented reality NFTs on Instagram Stories via Spark AR so you can place digital art into physical spaces,"

Instagram Head Adam Mosseri stated that the team was actively exploring NFTs, but did not have any further details. Mosseri stated in a video that a select group of US users would be able to display NFTs in their stories, feeds, and messages. Clicking on the "digital collectibles tag" will reveal details such as the creator's name and NFT owner.

Mosseri stated in the video, "I want to acknowledge upfront that NFTs and blockchain technologies and Web3 more broadly are all about distributing trust, distributing power,"
