BharatPe Files An Appeal For The Cancellation Of PhonePe's Registration

BharatPe has filed a petition against PhonePe's use of 'Pe' in the Devanagari script in Delhi High Court. Previously PhonePe has also filed a petition in Bombay High Court against BaratPe using the word 'Pe' in their latest Buy Now Pay latest platform PostPe. The court observed that the use of 'Pe' cannot be judged independently as per the law. 

This is not the first time when both the companies have filed a petition against each other over the name common words in their name. In September 2019, PhonePe went to Delhi High Court to file a petition against using a similar word as their own. The plea was dismissed in April this year, and the Delhi High Court said that BharatPe did not have any type of trademark violation.
