News Synopsis

Punjabi Kuwar Amritbir Singh is on a quest to show that all it takes to keep fit is determination. Kuwar Amritbir Singh, who is nineteen years old, has never been to a gym. He won't be able to explain it to you, but here's what he's capable of: In one minute, he did 118 knuckle pushups.

He presently owns the India Book of Records for the youngest person to complete 35 Superman push-ups in 30 seconds and the World Records of India title for the youngest person to perform knuckle push-ups in a minute. He was also nominated for the Karmaveer Chakra Award, which recognises commitment and courage in taking the way less travelled and causing societal change.

Kuwar Amritbir's equipment comprises a range of dumbells and barbells ranging in weight from 10 kilogrammes to 45 kilogrammes. The small ones are fashioned from cut-to-size plastic bottles filled with cement and cured in the sun for a few days; they are fastened together with an iron rod.

Others are constructed from cement tiles, bamboo sticks, old tyre tubes, and bricks, among other materials. A bench press device fashioned out of an iron table, a hardwood board, and tyre tubes is also available.

He claims that he strives to be creative and create equipment that targets various body sections, for example, he developed a device out of an iron rod, rope, and bricks to strengthen his forearms.

Ancient exercises like Dand Baithak, Sapate, and Bethaka were among them. He explains, that he began incorporating them into his daily routine at the age of 17. His diet is simple, and he eats milk, curd, ghee, butter, and lassi for breakfast, lunch, and supper.
