News Synopsis

The chairman of India’s Reliance Industries Limited, Mukesh Ambani has earlier this month declared that RIL plans to invest $75 billion in clean energy. With this huge investment, Reliance Industries aims to establish India as a clean hydrogen hub. Also, this is by far the biggest investment ever made in Renewable energy in India. This is important as the entire energy sector is considering Hydrogen to be the next-generation fuel. The investment will go to develop renewables infrastructure, manufacturing as well as procure energy generation plants, solar panels, and other equipment. Reliance is preparing itself to establish itself as a key player in the growing clean energy industry. Other than this Adani Energy as well as state-owned NTPC and Indian Oil Corp. also aim to invest to set up green energy facilities.
