Pankaj Tripathi Made 'National Icon' By Election Commission Of India

The Election Commission of India designated Pankaj Tripathi as a "National Icon," and he recalls his first voting experience. In a ceremony on Monday afternoon, the Election Commission of India named actor Pankaj Tripathi a "national icon." The actor was chosen for the award because of  ‘his association with ECI in creating awareness amongst voters. The actor said he felt honored by the announcement, which was given in Delhi by the Chief Election Commissioner.

Pankaj, who is well-known for his performances in Mirzapur, Sacred Games, Mimi, and Newton among other movies and television programmes, was already a state symbol for the ECI. CEC Rajiv Kumar praised the actor and stated that the choice to designate him as a national icon was made with consideration for both his dedication to the cause and his broad appeal throughout the nation.

Pankaj Tripathi addressed the gathering after recalling his first-time voter experiences. He claimed that the procedure had granted him the respect of a contributing voice in democracy in addition to the right vote. In order to reflect their democratic choices and make their views heard, the actor also advised all young voters to fully participate in the elections.

Pankaj, who has won a National Award, has worked in the industry for about 20 years. Pankaj rose to stardom as Sultan Qureshi in Anurag Kashyap's cult classic two-part film Gangs of Wasseypur after appearing in supporting roles in highly praised movies like Omkara, Dharm, and Aakrosh (2012). Along with starring in well-liked web series like Mirzapur and Criminal Justice, he has since gone on to work in a number of financially successful films.
