News Synopsis

A new long-form post style called Articles was launched by X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday. Only Premium Plus subscribers and approved organizations will have access to this new function.

These users' experiences will be a lot like that of Medium articles or WordPress-type material as they will be able to submit posts with text formatting, other X posts, and even embed videos and photos.

Through the company's @Write account, X announced the release of this new functionality. By releasing an article on its own, the account revealed this functionality.

For users with a membership, the social network owned by Elon Musk increased the character limit for lengthy postings to 25,000. Notably, as noted by Engadget, the character limit for articles seems to be significantly greater, at 100,000.

Users may add hyperlinked text and bulleted lists to their articles, according to a new post by Chris Bakke that highlights other capabilities. Recall that X purchased Bakke's job listing business, Laskie, last year.

Notes were first used as a long-form publication platform in 2022, which was before Musk bought the business. But Musk's tenure also saw the closure of the Revenue newsletter platform, the temporary suspension of the Notes project, and the removal of advertisements from articles.

Musk stated in July 2023 that the business is currently working on a system that would allow authors to distribute lengthy pieces enhanced by a variety of media, even in light of these modifications.

This continuous development is in line with Musk's goal of expanding the platform's functionalities and providing users with a variety of content types.

Following up on a user's post on the 'pieces' feature, Musk said, "This will allow users to post very long, complex articles with mixed media." If you so choose, you could publish a book.

Musk has continuously urged well-known content producers to submit directly to X Twitter, like MrBeast and former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson. This new move emphasizes how the Social media firm wants to attract authors who want to publish their work on the platform directly.
