buses that had been sitting idle since the pandemic struck are no longer fit to drive. The minister stated that there have been requests to put the buses to better use rather than selling them as scrap.

Antony Raju stated, "As a result, we chose to convert the low-floor buses into classrooms. We decided to make it a novel experience for the youngsters." The plea, he added, came directly from Kerala's State Education Minister V.Sivankutty, who received an immediate nod.

The first such classroom will open in a state-run school in the capital, which will be equipped with two low-floor buses. According to sources, the KSRTC has roughly 400 buses that are no longer roadworthy and must be demolished. It's unclear how many of these will be converted into classrooms.
