Govt Takes Down Layer'r Shot Perfume Advertisement

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has banned the controversial advertisement of deodorant named 'Shot' with immediate effect by taking major action on the controversial advertisement. After receiving complaints regarding this advertisement, the ministry ordered to suspend it.

According to media reports, the matter is being inquired about according to the advertisement code. The decisions of the Ministry are being praised fiercely on social media. People on Twitter are justifying strict action against such advertisements. In a report released in this regard, it has been said that this advertisement misrepresents the treatment of women. 

In this, quoting government sources, it has been said that letters have been sent to YouTube and Twitter, ordering them to be removed from their platforms. In the letter, it has been said on behalf of the Ministry that this is a violation of the guidelines issued regarding the Information Technology and Digital Media Ethics Code 2021. 

In this regard, Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal has said that the advertisement of Shot deodorant is clearly promoting the mindset of rape in the country.
