News Synopsis

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), has announced its partnership with Poddar Eduspace, a rapidly expanding education technology company focused on student programmes ranging from research, volunteering, and skill development to upskilling. The two organisations will work together to provide India's youth with the necessary 21st-century skills and increase employment opportunities through upskilling programmes.

As part of the partnership, Poddar Eduspace will be appointed as a skilling partner for NSDC and offer its WorkEx Bootcamp programme and 21st-century Digital Skills Bootcamp programme to close the employment gap and upskill applicants across India, mostly in corporations and universities.

Mr. Vedant Podar, CEO of Poddar Eduspace, and Mr. Sanjeeva Singh, Executive Vice President, CSR & Skill Development Financing, NSDC, signed the partnership agreement.

Students at Poddar Eduspace can access a 4-module programme with tracks in conjunction with Harvard Business School Online and Podar Enterprises through the upskilling programme called WorkEx Bootcamp, which focuses on teaching 21st-century relevant skills. The courses will put an emphasis on skills that are in demand in the sector, such as data analytics, business strategy, data science, cryptocurrency, and metaverse. The candidates will also have access to guaranteed online research internships where they may put their education to use and develop skills that are useful in the workplace. The course, which consists of four certificates, will be co-branded by NSDC and Podar Eduspace.

Mr. Sanjeeva Singh, Executive Vice President, CSR & Skill Development Financing, NSDC, praised the partnership and stated that modern skills and practical knowledge are now essential, particularly as India prepares for Industrial Revolution 4.0. All parties involved must work together to establish an environment that will prepare India's youth for the jobs of the future in order to ensure that India grows to be a USD 5 trillion economy and a worldwide powerhouse. He added that with NSDC collaborating with Poddar Eduspace, the emphasis will shift to educating kids in cutting-edge skills and transforming them into the foundation of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
