News Synopsis

Queen Elizabeth ll is all set to mark her 70-year reign making her one of the longest-reigning monarchs in history. She will be completing her 70 years of rule on Sunday. If we talk about the longest ruling monarchs in the world she is only behind two monarchs- “Sun King” Louis XIV who ruled France in the 17th century and Thailand’s King Bhumibol. With this being said these are some of the world’s longest reigns in the history of the world:

·         Frances’s Louis XIV who happens to hold the record of the world’s longest-reigning monarch, ruled for 72 years.

·         Thailand’s King Bhumibol who was crowned under the name Rama IX ruled for a little more than 70 years.

·         Queen Elizabeth was crowned as the Queen of Britain at the age of 25 and she will be celebrating 70 years of reign on February 6th.

·         Franz Josef I of Austria was the emperor for 68 years.

·         The fifth spot is also held by another Queen from Buckingham Palace, Queen Victoria who ruled for almost 64 years over England.

Queen Elizabeth standing strong and healthy at the age of 95, hopefully, will become the longest-reigning monarch in history soon surpassing King Louis XIV and King Bhumibol.
