Indian Railways Will Flag Off Shri Ramayana Yatra Tourist Train on April 7

Indian Railways will launch the Shri Ramayana Yatra Tourism Train on April 7 from Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi as part of the Bharat Gaurav Scheme. According to authorities, the Deluxe AC Tourist Train would encourage pilgrimage travel.

The train will visit significant locations related to the Ramayana and Lord Rama's life. A few days ago, Indian Railways launched the Garvi Gujarat Tourism Train from Safdarjung Railway Station as part of the Ek Shreshtha Bharat Scheme, and the train traveled for eight days. The Shri Ramayana Yatra train is now departing from the same station.

Destinations and Route of the Shri Ramayana Yatra

The tour will take 18 days to complete. The train's first stop will be at Ayodhya, where travelers will see the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, the Hanuman temple, and Saryuaarti.  The next stop will be Sitamarhi in Bihar, where tourists will see Sita Ji's birthplace and the Ram Janki Temple in Janakpur (Nepal), which will be reached by road. From Sitamarhi, the train will go to Buxar, where sightseeing will include Ramrekhaghat and Rameshwarnath temple, followed by a plunge into the holy Ganga. The tourists will next go to Varanasi, where they will see the Kashi Vishwanath temple and corridor, as well as the Tulsi Mandir and Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir temples. After completion, the people would be taken by road to Prayagraj, Shringverpur, and Chitrakoot. Nights will be spent in Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Chitrakoot.

The train will then stop at Nasik, where a visit to Trimbakeshwar temple and Panchvati will be included. After Nashik, the next stop will be Hampi, the historic Krishkindha city. The temple of Shri Hanuman's birthplace, as well as other heritage and religious places, will be explored in this section. The next stop on this rail tour will be Rameshwaram. The visit includes the Ramanathaswamy temple and Dhanuskodi. The journey will continue to Bhadrachalam, where the Sita Ram temple will be included. Nagpur is the final halt before the train resumes its trip. Nagpur's main attraction is the Ramtek Fort & Temple, where Lord Rama is said to have slept while in exile. On the 18th day of its voyage, the train returns to Delhi. This journey will cover around 7500 kilometers.

A unique tourist train has been introduced to encourage domestic tourism as part of the Government of India project DekhoApnaDesh and EkBharatShreshthaBharat, at a cost of Rs. 1,14,065/- per person for 2AC, Rs.1,46,545/- for 1AC class cabin, and Rs.1,68,950/- for 1AC coupe. Shri Ramayana Yatra Package price includes train journey in AC classes, accommodation in AC hotels, all meals (VEG ONLY), all transfers and sightseeing in AC vehicles, travel insurance, and IRCTC Tour Manager services, among other things. The required health precautions will be followed to ensure safe and healthy travel during the tour. Reservations for this can be done through the official website of the IRCTC.

Characteristics and Facilities of the Shri Ramayana Yatra Train

The State of the Art Deluxe AC Tourist Train has two fine dining restaurants, a contemporary kitchen, shower cubicles in coaches, sensor-based bathroom facilities, and a foot massager. The completely air-conditioned train has two categories of accommodations: first class and second class. CCTV cameras and Security Guards are placed in each carriage to increase security.
