News Synopsis

The Union Government is reportedly planning to build a super app for the farmers of the nation. It will provide all information like weather reports and market updates, precautionary advisories, government schemes, and other agriculture-related updates in one place. According to a report by Economic Times, this app will merge all other apps launched by different government departments under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Apps like AgriMarket, Bhuvan Hailstorm, Kisan Suvidha app will be combined together. Pusa Krishi, MKisan, Shetkari Masik, Farm-o-pedia, are some of the other apps launched by the Government for the farmers of India. While quoting an anonymous official of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the Economic Times report stated: “The compilation of different apps under a super app at one place will help the farmers in choosing from a bouquet of services as per their requirements. The focus will be to aggregate these apps to further ease the process of searching a relevant app.” However, it has not yet been decided when this super app will be launched, but reports estimate that is likely to be launched soon in the coming weeks.
