News Synopsis

The Bharat Gaurav Kashi Darshan Train and the first Vande Bharat train (T18) of Karnataka were both flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at KSR Bengaluru Station.

The Vande Bharat train will run six days a week, except on Wednesday, between Mysuru and Chennai via Bengaluru. The train will depart Chennai at 5.50 am, arrive in Bengaluru at 10.15 am, go to Mysuru at 12.20 pm, and return to Chennai at 7.30 pm, according to the Railways' schedule.

The indigenous T-18 modernizes the air-conditioned train with a stylish design, an executive-class attitude, and safety measures. It is recognized for its semi-high speed engine (160 kmph). All classes have recliner seats, while the executive class has 180-degree rotating seats as well as divyang-friendly washroom, seat belts, and an infotainment system.

The Bharat Gaurav train will run between Bengaluru and Varanasi, stopping along the way in Hubballi, Belagavi, Miraj, and Pune, as well as at Ayodhya and Prayagraj for tourists. The purpose of the theme-based train is to educate passengers about India's rich cultural and historical legacy. The Muzrai Department of the state government will operate it.

On November 13, at 4 p.m., the train (06553) will arrive at the Banaras railway station in accordance with the timetables announced by the railroads. The train (06554) traveling in the opposite direction will leave Banaras at 05:30 in the morning on November 15 and reach Bengaluru at 06:40 in the evening on November 18. Narendra Modi was greeted by hundreds of supporters who had gathered by the side of the road to applaud him as his car pulled into Sangolli Rayanna Circle.
