Deepinder Goyal has resigned as CEO of Zomato after shareholders approved changes to the board of Eternal, the holding company that owns both Zomato and Blinkit.

In his address to shareholders, Goyal explained that his interests have increasingly shifted toward high-risk, experimental ideas. He stated that pursuing such large-scale experimentation is more practical outside the framework of a publicly listed company, which led him to take this decision.

Despite stepping down as CEO, Deepinder Goyal will remain involved with the company as Vice Chairman of Eternal’s board.
