Zoho Launches Arattai TV Version: Now Video Calls Will Happen From TV, Not Phones

With the beginning of the New Year 2026, Sridhar Vembu has given users a major tech surprise.
The Zoho founder announced on social media platform X that the company’s messaging and calling app Arattai is now available on Android TV.

With this update, users can now make video calls and join scheduled meetings not just through smartphones or laptops, but directly from their TV screens. The big-screen experience is expected to be especially helpful for work-from-home users, online meetings, and family video calls.

How Arattai Will Change the Android TV User Experience

According to Zoho, the Arattai app for Android TV has been specially designed keeping large screens in mind.
It can be easily operated using the TV remote.

Users can:

  • make one-to-one video calls, and

  • join pre-scheduled meetings directly from the TV.

For now, this version focuses mainly on calling and meeting features, but more capabilities are expected to be added in future updates.

How to Install Arattai on Android TV

  1. Turn on your Android TV and open the Google Play Store.

  2. Search for “Arattai” and select the app.

  3. Click Install — the app will download and install on the TV.

When you open the app for the first time, a QR code will appear on the TV screen.

  • Open the Arattai app on your mobile phone, go to Settings → Devices,

  • then scan the QR code displayed on the TV.

This links the TV app with your existing Arattai account.

If the mobile app is not available, users can instead visit the Arattai TV verification page via any phone or computer browser and enter the code shown on the TV. Once verified, login happens automatically.

What Users Can Do With the Arattai TV App

After signing in, users will see a list of ongoing meetings associated with their account.
If there is no live meeting, upcoming scheduled meetings will appear.

With a single click, users can join calls.
Before joining, the preview screen allows them to turn the microphone or camera on/off.

During meetings, on-screen controls make it easy to:

  • mute audio

  • manage video

  • leave the call

Recorded meetings also appear in a separate section, allowing users to watch them directly on the TV.
