Meta-owned WhatsApp is gearing up to introduce a new tool designed to make reacting to messages faster and more intuitive. According to a recent report from WABetaInfo, the popular messaging platform will soon enable users to double-tap on a message to react, streamlining the process of expressing emotions through emojis.

Faster Reactions with Double-Tap

The upcoming double-tap reaction feature is set to be included in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.16.7, which is now available on the Google Play Store.

This feature aims to significantly enhance the speed at which users can react to messages. By simply double-tapping a message, users will be able to quickly add a reaction without the need to navigate through the reaction tray.

Default Heart Emoji

One of the key aspects of this new feature is the use of a default heart emoji for reactions. This design choice is intended to save time and keep communication flowing smoothly.

Users will no longer have to interrupt their conversations to select an emoji, as the default heart will be automatically applied with a double-tap. If users wish to use a different emoji, they will still have the option to access the reaction tray to choose from a variety of reactions.

Flexibility and Efficiency
