The telecom provider Vi (Vodafone Idea) said on Friday that it has partnered with the gaming platform CareGame to provide its consumers in India with a 5G cloud gaming experience. The company claimed that the low latency technology of 5G will further democratise the cloud gaming sector.

“The online gaming industry is among the fastest growing entertainment segments in India and with the advent of 5G it is expected to grow many folds. Mobile gaming is a key agenda for us to drive engagement with our consumers”, Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer at Vodafone Idea, stated.

According to a Boston Consulting Group (BCG) report, 300 million mobile gamers are currently active in India. The Indian mobile gaming market is anticipated to quadruple in size to $5 billion by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 38%.

According to Benjamin Athuil, co-founder and president of CareGame, “Our unique Mobile Cloud Gaming technology lifts all these barriers up so that all mobile gamers can enjoy all these great mobile games, whether being RPG, MOBA, Battle Royale, Strategy, Simulation, FPS, Racing or in any other genre”,

At the India Mobile Congress (IMC), which takes place from October 1–4 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, the business will present the service. Reliance Jio and Airtel, two other telecom providers, are anticipated to also roll out 5G services. The event will be the focus thanks to the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will also start the program.
