Unilever CEO Praises India as One of the Best-Performing Markets

Unilever CEO Alan Jope, who completed a three-day visit to India on Thursday, praised India as one of the company's best-performing markets, even in difficult times.

HUL's revenue exceeded Rs 50,000 crore in the previous financial year, recording a 3% increase in sales volume. In the first quarter, the company reported flat volume growth and a 10.7% increase in revenue due to higher prices. After announcing its first-quarter results, Jope told investors that the Indian market is far ahead of the market and the business is growing by more than 75%.

He told investors, “Our brands are successfully championing and opening up new demand spaces in India. For example, laundry capsules, and the development of the mayonnaise market with Hellmann’s and this is all with a relentless focus on product superiority and consistently excellent operational execution, and we have been able to navigate tricky market conditions, we are well placed for the challenges ahead.”
