News Synopsis

The U.S.Justice Department sued Uber Technologies with the charges of overcharging disabled customers. The Justice Department’s lawsuit aims at a Policy of Uber which includes the charges of passengers wait time fees. This practice started in some cities at first and was eventually expanded nationwide. 

The policy violates the American Disabilities Act, which mentions that disabled people need, and those who use wheelchairs and walkers need more than two minutes to enter the Uber car. 

Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke has said that people with disabilities deserve equal rights as normal people. The Department of Justice wants the Court to order Uber to modify its policy about the disabled. The Uber officials have not released any type of statement about the matter till now.
