Twitter Testing Edit Button Features
App researcher and reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong received a push from his upcoming boss Elon Musk on Tuesday as Twitter plans to provide users with an "edit" button.
She tweeted a video showing the steps needed to edit the tweet. The user must click the Edit Tweet button in the drop-down context menu. The user can then edit the post. Click the Edit button to see all the original content for the user. The tool isn't just for grammatical errors, so users can either delete the entire post or start over.
Wong posted last month, “Looks like Twitter approach to Edit Tweet is immutable as in, instead of mutating the Tweet text within the same Tweet, it re-creates a new tweet with the amended content, along with the list of the old Tweets prior of that edit.”
The edit button will initially be available to Twitter Blue users and will be available to all users later. In a $44 billion takeover bid for Musk, Twitter announced last month that it is working to allow users to edit tweets after posting to correct typos and errors.
