Truecaller Introduces AI-Powered Message IDs to Enhance SMS Safety and Intelligence

Truecaller has introduced an innovative feature called AI-powered Message IDs, aiming to enhance SMS communication by making it smarter and safer for users. This feature, now available in India and over 30 countries, utilizes artificial intelligence to help users easily identify important messages such as OTPs, payment reminders, and delivery updates, effectively filtering out spam and clutter.

Smarter SMS with AI Integration

The AI-powered Message IDs leverage advanced AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to scan SMS inboxes directly on users' devices. This on-device processing ensures that personal data remains private and secure. The AI identifies and summarizes critical information from messages, allowing users to grasp essential details at a glance without opening each SMS.

Easy Setup for All Users

This feature is accessible to both Premium and non-Premium users and supports multiple languages, including Hindi, English, Swahili, and Spanish. To activate it, users need to grant two permissions: 'Read SMS' and 'Display Over Other Apps.' Once enabled, Truecaller provides real-time pop-up alerts for important messages, enhancing user convenience.

Trust Verified Messages with the Green Tick

To further bolster security, Truecaller introduces Green Message IDs, which come with a verified tick mark. These ticks indicate that the messages are from genuine businesses, adding an extra layer of protection against scams and fraudulent messages.

AI Beyond Transactional Messages

The AI-powered Message IDs are not limited to transactional messages like OTPs or delivery updates. Truecaller's AI can detect and highlight any important message, even if it doesn't fall under a usual category, ensuring users don't miss any crucial updates regardless of the message type.
