News Synopsis

Škoda has taken the wraps off its Vision O concept at the 2025 Munich Motor Show, presenting a fully electric estate car that blends modern design, practicality, and sustainability. With 650 litres of boot space, AI-powered smart features, and sustainable materials, the Vision O highlights Škoda’s roadmap for its next-generation Combi models, expected to enter production in the next decade.

Estate Legacy and Market Position

The Vision O concept continues Škoda’s strong heritage in estate cars, a segment the brand has dominated for decades. Models like the Octavia Combi and Superb Combi have topped European sales charts since 2016, with over 3.6 million deliveries since 1998. With the Vision O, Škoda signals its intent to carry this legacy into the electric era while retaining the practicality and versatility that customers value.

Modern Solid Design Language

The Vision O embodies Škoda’s Modern Solid design philosophy, characterised by minimalism and functionality. At the front, it features a Tech-loop lighting mask with a continuous LED signature and illuminated Škoda logo. Cyber Lights extend into the fenders, while the rear showcases T-shaped tail lamps that mirror the front design.

Aerodynamics play a central role, with active cooling vents, recessed door handles, and aero-optimised wheels. The dual-tone mica-pearl finish reflects shifting daylight, while split spoilers and clean estate lines reinforce both style and efficiency.

Dimensions and Practicality

Measuring 4,850 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, the Vision O stays true to estate proportions. Its 650-litre luggage capacity can expand to 1,700 litres with seats folded, making it one of the most practical EV concepts in its segment.

A raked windscreen, long bonnet, panoramic roof, and blacked-out C-pillars give it a sleek silhouette. Compared with the Vision S SUV concept, the Vision O offers greater space and practicality, reaffirming its estate positioning.

Advanced Cabin Experience

Inside, Škoda has prioritised digital innovation with a 1.2-metre Horizon Display stretching across the dashboard, replacing traditional dials. A vertical central screen, rotary haptic dial, and redesigned two-spoke steering wheel complement the setup. Passengers can customise digital views, while Bio-Adaptive Lighting aligns cabin illumination with natural rhythms.

Practical touches remain central to Škoda’s ethos. The Vision O includes a retractable passenger table, integrated fridge, portable Bluetooth speaker, wireless charging pods, and multiple “Simply Clever” storage solutions.

AI-Powered Smart Features

Škoda’s digital assistant Laura is embedded in the Vision O, offering navigation, contextual updates, entertainment control, and voice-activated scheduling. A dedicated Vision O mobile app allows remote functions like boot preparation, window tint adjustment, and Horizon Display presets.

An upcoming MyŠkoda update with Google Gemini AI will enhance trip planning, charging stop recommendations, and personalised points of interest, showing Škoda’s push for AI-driven user experiences.

Sustainable Materials and Circular Economy

Sustainability is central to the Vision O’s design. The cabin uses 100% recycled PES fabric for seats, Ultra-suede with 65% plant-based content, and flooring made from leather scraps. TPU headrests are 3D-printed using zero-waste processes, while multiple parts are designed for end-of-life recyclability.

This commitment extends beyond materials, with charging cable holders, umbrella slots, and modular storage, proving that functionality and eco-consciousness can go hand in hand.

Future Vision for Škoda EVs

The Vision O is more than just a concept—it is a preview of Škoda’s electrified future. By merging estate practicality with sustainable design, AI-driven technology, and advanced autonomy, it underlines Škoda’s strategy to deliver efficient, user-focused EVs.

With production models expected in the next decade, the Vision O stands as a symbol of Škoda’s transition toward sustainable mobility while staying true to its core values of practicality and reliability.
