News Synopsis

Telecom Branch of Reliance Industries Ltd., Reliance Jio, and one of the leading smartphone manufacturers, Oppo have jointly conducted a successful 5G standalone and non-standalone network trial on Friday. The 5G trial in India was conducted on Oppo’s Reno Series 7. After successful completion of the trial, Tasleem Arif, Vice President, India R&D Head, OPPO India, said: "Technology such as 5G is altering how the world communicates today and tests like these will further consolidate our efforts in the industry and provide the best value proposition for our customers”.

This is important news for the smartphone companies as well as telecom providers, as the Indian government is set to open a 5G spectrum auction this year, aiming for the mass-level 5G roll-out in 2023. A mid-band trial spectrum was allocated to conduct the joint Oppo and Jio 5G trial. After the successful completion of the 5G trial, Reliance Jio is currently leading amongst other telecom providers to launch 5G services in India. Reno Series 7 is the latest smartphone launched by the smartphone company.

It comes equipped with 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. It is priced at Rs. 28,999. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor. It comes with a 4500mAh battery to keep you going through the day.
