News Synopsis

Ravindra Jadeja has become the top-ranked all-rounder in the latest ICC test rankings. Jadeja's performance as the best player promotes him to catapult by winning his career's best unbeaten 175 with the bat and had a match haul of 9/87 in India's win by an innings and 222 runs against Sri Lanka in Mohali was enough for the position on the pole.

The Indian cricketer also became the first player in Men’s Test cricket to score more than 150 runs and take nine wickets in s single test. This nine-wicket scalped helped him to move up to 17th position.

Ravichandran Ashwin was in 3rd place. From an Indian perspective, elder batter Virat Kohli, who reached the 100th test milestone in Mohali, return to the top five in the men's batting ranking at fifth place, leaving Travis Head and new Indian skipper Rohit Sharma below him.

Wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant's quickfire 96 against Sri Lanka put him in 10th place in the Top 10 at the expense of Australia's opener David Warner.
