News Synopsis

Today, India's 5G services has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the sixth India Mobile Congress, 2022, held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. As a result, the country will enter an era of ultra-high-speed internet. It began on Saturday in a few places and will gradually expand to the rest of the nation over the following several years. Continuous coverage, large data rates, low latency, and extremely dependable communications will all be made possible by 5G technology. Energy, spectrum, and network efficiency will all rise as a result.

By 2035, it is anticipated that India will have experienced a $450 billion economic benefit from 5G. The fifth generation or 5G services is expected to benefit society and create new economic opportunities. Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea, three telecom giants, submitted bids in the 5G spectrum auction with the Adani Group.

The fifth generation of mobile communication networks, or 5G, is expected to provide significantly higher speeds and more application possibilities than 4G. It is anticipated that the deployment of 5G will hasten the uptake of cloud gaming, AR/VR, the Internet of Things, and other technologies. Several business use cases exist for 5G as well.

Following the launch of 5G services in India, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio, said, "Jio plans to cover entire India by December...We will make it very affordable, it should be affordable for every Indian - right from device to service."
