Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his happiness over Azadi Ka Amrit Makhotsav becoming a mass movement. In his Mann Ki Baat broadcast on All India Radio yesterday, Modi spoke to the nation and highlighted the fact that people of all walks of life are involved in the various programs. This 91st episode is special because India will soon celebrate 75 years of independence, he said.

The PM spoke out about Har Ghar Tiranga, which is currently being held under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. He invited listeners to join the movement and to hoist the Tricolour from 13th to 16th August. He stated that the Tricolor inspires and connects people to do good for their country. He suggested that people could use the Tricolour for their social media profiles from the 2nd to the 15th August. He stated that the 2nd August is associated with the Indian flag. This is the birthday of Pingali Venkaiah, who designed the Indian flag. He also remembered Bhikaji Cama, the great revolutionary who played a crucial role in the creation of the Tricolor.

He called the listeners fortunate because they were born in free India. He said that the present day would not have been possible if people had been born during slavery. He stated that people who lived through slavery must have long longed for freedom from subjugation and slavery. He stated that millions of their countrymen had fought against slavery and made sacrifices to obtain freedom.

According to the PM, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav's biggest message is that everyone should do their duty with complete devotion. He stated that Amrit Kaal for the next 25 years is also Kartavyakaal. This is a time of duty for all countrymen.

Referring to healthcare, Modi stated that the fight against Corona is ongoing and that Holistic Healthcare has been a great help in tackling the pandemic. Modi stressed that traditional Indian methods can be used in this endeavor and that AYUSH played a significant role at the global level. Ayurveda is becoming more popular all over the globe. Ayush Exports has seen a record-breaking growth, and there are many start-ups in this sector. He also spoke about the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit, which was recently held. Modi was happy to see that the Summit had received investment proposals totaling around ten thousand crore rupees. Modi also stated that research on medicinal plants has been intensified during the pandemic and that many research studies on this topic are being published. It was a good start, he said.

The Indian Virtual Herbarium was launched just this month by the PM. The Indian Virtual Herbarium is an online collection of digital images of preserved or broken plants. It is free to access on the internet. This Virtual Herbarium contains more than 15,000 specimens as well as scientific information. The Virtual Herbarium also shows a rich view of India's Botanical Diversity. Modi expressed his confidence that the Indian Virtual Herbarium would be a valuable resource for research on Indian flora.
