News Synopsis

Japanese-based firm, NEC corporation announced that as more and more people got inclined towards digital solutions after the onset of the pandemic, its Indian division is registering positive double-digit numbers in its growth rate. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the President of NEC Corporation India Aalok Kumar said: “We’re seeing a healthy margin mix in India, and that’s helping us become extremely optimistic and bullish about the Indian market. We’ve grown our headcount by 20-25% over the pandemic and will be following a hybrid model of working going forward. This gives us tremendous flexibility to hire in tier II and III cities going forward. Our India focus is tailored to suit the pace at which the country’s aggressive digital transformation is shaping up.” The company aims to raise its workforce from 6000 employees to 14000 by 2023. Mr. Kumar further said: “Our model is accelerating India and powering global opportunities. We believe India is ripe with opportunities for digitization. We are heavily invested in India, and we are building solutions and running projects out of India for global markets.” The company apart from offering digital solutions also manages container import-export tracking and also undertook smart city projects like Ahmedabad, Gurugram, etc.
