NDA's Droupadi Murmu Has Bright Chances of Win in 2022 Presidential Elections
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) nominee Droupadi Murmu has bright chances of victory against opposition leader Yashwant Sinha in the 2022 Presidential elections, the results of which will be announced on July 21.
On Monday, the Parliamentarians and legislators across the country from all around the nation cast ballots to choose the next President. By the time the voting was over, there were enough signs to predict that the NDA nominee Murmu would easily defeat Sinha.Over 99 percent of the voters cast ballots, according to the Election Commission.
According to the returning officer PC Mody, 98.90% of the voters who were allowed to cast ballots at Parliament House actually did so during the recent election in Delhi. On July 21, results will be announced, and on July 25, the new President will take office. According to Mody, the Election Commission had given permission for 736 voters—727 MPs and nine MLAs—to cast ballots in Parliament House.
Eight MPs, two each from the BJP, Shiv Sena, and BSP, as well as one each from the Congress and AIMIM, according to sources, did not cast a ballot.
Cross-voting incidents, primarily in Murmu's favour, were recorded from a number of states, including Gujarat, Haryana, her native state of Odisha, where she served as Governor, and Jharkhand. After the ballots are tallied, it will be known how many MPs and MLAs cross-voted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his predecessor Manmohan Singh, who arrived in a wheelchair, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, key ministries, party leaders, and MPs cast their ballots in the Parliament House. While Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister, and RK Singh, the minister of power, arrived in PPE kits, the SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav also arrived in a wheelchair.
