Mahindra XEV 9S Launched in India at ₹19.95 Lakh: A Powerful 7-Seater Electric SUV Loaded With Features

Mahindra has launched its all-new XEV 9S electric SUV in India with a starting price of ₹19.95 lakh. Built on the INGLO platform, this 7-seater EV comes with three battery pack options, impressive performance, advanced tech features, and a spacious cabin, making it ideal for large families.

Mahindra & Mahindra has entered the Indian electric SUV market with its newest launch — the XEV 9S — a vehicle designed not only for large families but also for buyers seeking power, premium features and strong range. Based on the INGLO platform, the XEV 9S is offered in three battery pack options and six variants, priced between ₹19.95 lakh and ₹29.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings will begin on January 14 next year, while deliveries are scheduled to start from January 23, 2026. Here’s everything you need to know about this made-in-India 7-seater electric SUV.

Mahindra XEV Outstanding Power & Speed

The new Mahindra XEV 9S is built on the INGLO platform and powered by Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture (MAIA). Mahindra claims that this is the most spacious SUV/MPV in its segment. It comes with 59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh battery pack choices, with the electric motor generating 180kW of power and 380Nm peak torque. Six variants are available, and the top Pack Three model features the 79kWh battery.

This is the fastest 7-seater electric SUV in its category, offering a top speed of 202kmph and accelerating from 0–100kmph in just 7 seconds. It also offers 205mm of ground clearance.

"Most Advanced EV in Its Price Segment"

R. Velusami, President of Automotive Business at Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., stated that the XEV 9S delivers a smooth and noise-free driving experience on the INGLO platform, calling it the most advanced EV in its price range. CEO Nalineekant Gollagunta added that Mahindra is not just competing in the EV space but expanding it. Business owners are being offered 40% depreciation benefits as well.

The running cost of the XEV 9S is only ₹1.2 per km and its maintenance cost is just ₹0.40 per km, making it highly economical.

Advanced Suspension & Braking

The XEV 9S features intelligent adaptive dampers with i-Link at the front and a 5-link independent suspension at the rear. It uses an advanced LFP battery with lifetime warranty, offering a real-world range of 500km. Additional features include brake-by-wire technology, intelligent electronic braking, and high-power steering with variable gear ratio.

Largest Electric SUV in Its Segment

The Mahindra XEV 9S offers a 4,076-litre cabin space (front + middle row) — the largest in its segment. The boot capacity is 527 litres, ideal for storage, along with an additional best-in-class 150-litre frunk space up front. The third row features 50:50 split foldable seats for flexible storage and seating.

Feature-Rich Interior

Key highlights include three 12.3-inch displays for infotainment, driver information, and passenger entertainment. The SUV also gets a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, 5G connectivity, ambient lighting, powered Boss mode, ventilated seats in first & second row, recline & slide adjustment, acoustic laminated glass, wireless charger, lounge desk, digital key, NFC and over 140 connected features.

Safety features include 7 airbags, Level-2 ADAS, 5 radars + 1 vision camera, driver drowsiness detection (Eyedentity system), and 360-degree camera.
