Made in India’ Semiconductor Chips to Hit Markets by End of 2025: PM Modi

In his 79th Independence Day address from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that Made-in-India semiconductor chips will be available in the market by the end of 2025, marking a landmark moment in India’s journey toward technological self-reliance.

Delivering his speech under the theme of Naya Bharat, PM Modi stressed that the 21st century is technology-driven, and India must take a leadership role in crucial sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and clean energy.

Upcoming Units in Development

Highlighting the government’s proactive steps, he said:
“We have started semiconductor production in mission mode. Six units are in the offing, and four of them are soon coming out of the drawing board.”

“Imagine, had we not been Atmanirbhar, could we have executed Operation Sindoor as smoothly?”
