News Synopsis

Kia India has officially launched the Carens Clavis, with prices starting at Rs 11.50 lakh and extending up to Rs 21.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variant is positioned as a more premium offering within the Carens MPV lineup. Bookings for the Carens Clavis began on May 9, just a day after its official debut, with a token amount of Rs 25,000.

Exterior Colour Options

The Carens Clavis is available in eight monotone exterior paint shades: Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Imperial Blue, Ivory Silver Gloss, Clear White, Pewter Olive, and Gravity Gray. This extensive colour palette gives buyers the flexibility to choose a shade that best matches their personal style.

Distinct Design Language

Kia has given the Carens Clavis a unique and rugged look. The front fascia features triple-segment LED headlamps set in sharply contoured triangular housings. Inverted V-shaped LED DRLs offer a fresh visual signature, and instead of a conventional grille, the vehicle gets a closed-off front panel. The front bumper is reinforced with black cladding and a silver faux skid plate to emphasize its robust styling.

Side and Rear Enhancements

Black cladding continues around the wheel arches and lower body panels, creating an off-road-ready look. It rides on stylish 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, complemented by chrome-finished door handles and silver roof rails. At the rear, the Clavis distinguishes itself from the standard Carens with a connected LED taillight bar. The rear bumper mirrors the front with black cladding and a faux skid plate, completing its cohesive and rugged aesthetic.

Powertrain Options

Kia offers three engine choices for the Carens Clavis:

  1. 1.5-litre NA Petrol: Produces 113bhp and 144Nm, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

  2. 1.5-litre Turbo GDi Petrol: Generates 158bhp and 253Nm. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual, a six-speed iMT, or a seven-speed DCT.

  3. 1.5-litre Turbo Diesel: Offers 113bhp and 250Nm, with options for a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic. These varied powertrain options ensure that the Clavis caters to a wide range of driving preferences and fuel choices.

Built with Indian families in mind, the Carens Clavis prioritizes comfort and practicality. It includes:
