News Synopsis

According to reports, Instagram, Meta's own photo-sharing platform, has quietly removed the ability for mobile users to set a daily time limit of fewer than 30 minutes. In fact, the  UX design of the app allows people to choose a "limit" of 3 hours.

This daily time limit setting will notify the user when the app activity reaches the desired limit, recognize the time spent on the app, and make it easy to quit out of the app voluntarily.

Previously, the company said 15  or  10 minutes per day when it made a large PR push to suggest that more "mindfulness" use of the service was possible via social media. Supported short Instagram custom limits-increased addiction.

A Meta spokesperson has said that the platform has two time management features. The ‘Daily limit’ shows a notification when the user has hit the daily limit, but the new feature ‘take a break’ will show users full-screen reminders to leave the application, including 10 minutes intervals. However, the hottest tech giant seems to want Instagram users to see their content feeds longer on the platform.
