Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that India’s expanding network of trade and mobility agreements with partner countries is set to create new employment and career opportunities for the country’s youth, both domestically and overseas.

Speaking at the 18th Rozgar Mela, Prime Minister Modi underlined the role of international cooperation in boosting employment prospects for young Indians. The event saw the electronic distribution of 61,000 appointment letters for government jobs across the country.

Addressing candidates at 45 locations nationwide via video conferencing, Modi highlighted how global engagement is helping unlock new career pathways.

Emphasising the impact of international partnerships, Modi said:

"India is signing trade and mobility agreements with several countries. These trade agreements are bringing new opportunities for the youth of the nation,"

The Prime Minister said such agreements are designed to facilitate skill exchange, workforce mobility, and employment growth, allowing Indian youth to access opportunities both within India and abroad.

Modi noted that India has the maximum number of youngsters in the world, and his government is actively working to ensure that this demographic advantage translates into meaningful employment.

PMO Highlights Employment Drive

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Rozgar Mela is a flagship initiative aimed at converting the government’s employment vision into tangible outcomes, in line with the Prime Minister’s commitment to prioritising job creation.

Since the launch of the Rozgar Mela initiative:

  • More than 11 lakh recruitment letters have been issued nationwide

18th Rozgar Mela Held at 45 Locations

New Recruits Join Key Government Departments

The 18th Rozgar Mela was organised simultaneously at 45 locations across the country, bringing together newly recruited candidates from all regions of India.

The appointees will serve across several central government ministries and departments, including:

Key Departments and Ministries

  • Ministry of Home Affairs

  • Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

  • Department of Financial Services

  • Department of Higher Education

Employment Generation Remains Government Priority

The Rozgar Mela initiative reflects the government’s continued focus on large-scale recruitment while aligning domestic employment efforts with India’s broader trade and mobility strategy.
