Hero's Niranjan Gupta Resigns, Vikram Kasbekar Appointed as New CEO

Hero MotoCorp, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, has announced that Niranjan Gupta, its current CEO, has decided to step down from his position. Gupta’s resignation comes as he seeks to explore new opportunities outside the company. His last day at Hero MotoCorp will be on April 30, 2025.

In his statement, Gupta reflected on his eight-year tenure with the company, expressing gratitude for working with an exceptional team. He mentioned, “During my eight years at Hero, I have had the opportunity to work with an exceptional team and contribute to the company’s continued success. As I move on to pursue other opportunities, I extend my best wishes to the entire team at Hero MotoCorp for an optimistic and progressive future.”

Vikram Kasbekar Appointed Acting CEO

Following Gupta's resignation, Vikram Kasbekar, a key figure in the company, has been appointed as the acting CEO of Hero MotoCorp. Kasbekar's appointment signifies a pivotal leadership transition within the company, with the aim to ensure continued progress in line with Hero MotoCorp's strategic goals.

Recent Management Changes and Key Promotions

In addition to the CEO change, Hero MotoCorp has undertaken a series of management changes in recent times to reinforce its leadership structure. Ashutosh Varma, previously the National Sales Head, has been promoted to the role of Chief Business Officer. This promotion is seen as part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its business functions.

Furthermore, Jyoti Singh, who previously headed HR for R&D, will see her role extended to Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer starting February 1. This transition reflects Hero MotoCorp’s commitment to fostering leadership within its HR division.

Major Management Shifts: Ram Kuppuswamy’s New Role

Another significant change in the leadership team is the promotion of Ram Kuppuswamy, who currently serves as Hero MotoCorp’s Chief Procurement Officer. Beginning April 1, Kuppuswamy will take on the additional responsibility of Chief Operations Officer (COO) for manufacturing. He will now also oversee plant operations and quality functions within the company. This change is intended to streamline Hero MotoCorp’s manufacturing operations and ensure high-quality production standards.
