Elon Musk's Latest Announcement: Algorithm Shift for Pinned Posts Visibility
News Synopsis
The platform has seen significant alterations ever since Elon Musk purchased X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2022. X is well on its way to being the "everything app" that Musk has long desired, having undergone a rebranding, added support for lengthier tweets and video uploads, enabled job searching, and much more.
According to a recent development, Musk appears to be eager to assist users in expanding the reach of their accounts. No, we are not discussing a new premium feature; rather, we are referring to a modification that will genuinely help all X users.
Musk said in a tweet that X would be changing its algorithm and that all of your followers will be able to view the posts you have pinned followers.
X to undergo an algorithmic modification
"A change is coming to our recommendation Algorithm that will ensure that all of your followers see your pinned posts," tweeted Elon Musk in an announcement of the upgrade. To stop systemic gaming, this is limited to one pinned post per 48 hours."
Only some of your followers are currently able to read your posts. On the other hand, if Musk's prediction comes true, every follower on your account will see at least one post from you. This may contribute to expanding the reach of your account.
Latest information on X
Musk recently revealed that X Twitter is also evolving into a job-search site. According to a post by X Hiring, more than a million job ads have already been made on X across a variety of businesses. On the platform, Elon Musk reposted the article.
"More than a million job postings are now live on X!" stated the post from X Hiring. Searching for a new job? Use X Hiring for your next job move."
In the same vein, X also made audio and video calls available to consumers without a premium subscription. This feature was formerly exclusive to Premium subscribers.
Last year, X released audio and video calling for iOS users; at first, it was only available as a premium service, but later it was made available to a wider audience. Android users were able to utilize the calling function earlier this year. It was still only available to premium customers, though.
Earlier in the month, Elon Musk made hints about a broader rollout by the end of January, stressing the company's commitment to testing the function thoroughly before rolling it out to all consumers. But it goes deeper than that. X has added a new feature that lets users personalize how they receive calls within the app, in addition to enabling all users to initiate voice and video conversations.
Now, users on X have the option to customize their preferences, accepting calls from everybody on the network or only from those they follow.
