Disney, Sony put Movie releases on hold in Russia

World-famous movie production houses - Disney, Sony, and Warner Bros have decided to halt the release of their movies in Russia. This decision was taken by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The movies which were supposed to release in the country are The Batman, Turning Red, and Morbius. Not only these Movies Productions houses, several institutes, and the governments have been imposing sanctions on Russia. Australia is the latest to join the list. Other than the film industry, Global automakers and energy companies have also decided to shut their operations in Russia. A spokesperson from Warner Bros company said: "In light of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, WarnerMedia is pausing the release of its feature film 'The Batman' in Russia." Disney was also set to release its Turning Red in Russia. The company in a statement said: "Given the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the tragic humanitarian crisis, we are pausing the theatrical release of films in Russia." Sony’s Morbius that was lined up to hit the big screens is another film halted due to this conflict. The company’s spokesperson stated: "Given the ongoing military action in Ukraine and the resulting uncertainty and humanitarian crisis unfolding in that region, we will be pausing our planned theatrical releases in Russia."
