Cirrus Nexus launches AI Tool to Help Companies Monitor Carbon Emission

Cirrus Nexus, a cloud management platform, announced an artificial intelligence tool that helps businesses measure and reduce carbon emissions from cloud operations. AI was developed after companies faced pressure from shareholders and regulators to meet sustainability goals. 

The TrueCarbon tool analyzes public data center energy consumption information and other third-party data to enable customers to measure carbon emissions. There are also recommendations to help customers reach their emission reduction goals.

AI technology is constantly improving its recommendations based on customer usage patterns and data centers' energy consumption trends, said Chris Noble, CEO of the company. It also allows customers to move IT operations and processes to different data centers on the fly to minimize the carbon footprint of activities. 

TrueCarbon is part of an increasing number of carbon accounting tools designed to help businesses meet their sustainability requirements, said Ed Anderson, research vice president, and prominent analyst at Gartner Inc.
