BHIM App Introduces New UPI Circle Full Delegation Feature: Now Parents & Seniors Can Make Payments Easily

NPCI BHIM Services Ltd. has introduced a new UPI Circle Full Delegation feature in the BHIM app, allowing primary users to authorize trusted contacts to make UPI payments up to ₹15,000 on their behalf. The feature aims to empower senior citizens, dependents, students, and family members with secure and controlled digital payments.

NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL) has launched a new feature called UPI Circle Full Delegation on the BHIM payments app. With this, primary users can authorize trusted contacts to carry out UPI payments of up to ₹15,000 on their behalf. This is expected to be extremely helpful for senior citizens who have their own bank accounts but hesitate to perform digital transactions.

This also benefits young users who can manage daily or study-related expenses with secure parent-controlled access. The feature simplifies shared and household financial management while maintaining complete transparency and control.

How Will UPI Circle Work on BHIM?

With UPI Circle Full Delegation, a primary user can authorize a secondary trusted user to initiate and complete UPI payments directly from their account. The primary user can set a monthly spending limit of up to ₹15,000 and define an expiry duration of up to 5 years.

This feature will make daily digital transactions easier among family members, dependents and even for staff in small businesses. Full delegation enables secure digital payments without the need for the authorized user to have their own UPI ID or connected bank account.

How to Use UPI Circle on BHIM App?

To activate and use UPI Circle on the BHIM UPI app, follow these steps:

1. Open the BHIM app and go to the UPI Circle section on the home screen.

2. Tap ‘Invite to Circle’ and enter the contact number.

3. Enter their UPI ID or scan their QR code.

4. Select ‘Approve a Monthly Limit’ (Full Delegation).

5. Choose the relationship (Child, Spouse, Staff etc.) and verify identity using Aadhaar or other supporting documents.

6. Set a spending limit (up to ₹15,000 per month) and validity period (minimum 1 month, maximum 5 years).

7. Select your bank account and authorize using UPI PIN.

8. Once the secondary user accepts the request and completes the cooling period, they can start making UPI payments instantly.
