News Synopsis

The former Managing Director and Cofounder of fintech platform BharatPe, Ashneer Grover told that he is planning to start his own business. Interestingly, he plans to do this without seeking funds from the investors. Recently Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain Grover have been removed from all responsibilities and posts from BharatPe. He and his wife were accused of "extensive misappropriation of company funds" and using "company expense accounts" to "enrich themselves and fund their lavish lifestyles". Mr. Grover said he will not go back to investors again. According to multiple media reports, Grover during the recently-held TiECon-2022 start-up and entrepreneurial event in Chandigarh, said "I wish to start my own venture with my own money and make it profitable. I don't want to go to the investors again."He even told a panelist, that his scuffle with BharatPe is a "badly fought corporate battle".

Last month, Ashneer threatened legal action against the Chief Executive Officer of BharatPe Suhail Sameer and the board for his comments on LinkedIn against his sister Ashima Grover. Mr. Grover also sought resignation from Chairman Rajnish Kumar. In a letter written to BharatPe Board, Ashneer said that Sameer should be "immediately served a show-cause notice for his despicable public behavior and immediately put on a leave of absence to manage the damage to the Brand of the company".
